Fry-day

What happened to the warm spring air? Where did it go? My walk along the bay this morning was c-o-l-d!!

Last night was dinner at the Fishermans Inn. It's a "classic" Eastern Shore restaurant. It lies just on the far side of the Kent Narrows. The person with me said "let's go the old way, it isn't on the half hour, so the bridge won't be open." If I didn't respect her then, I sure do now! She lives in Georgia, yet knew the schedule for the Kent Narrows Bridge (Route 18)- the old draw span that used to be MD50.

The Eastern Shore is such a cool place. I'd love to have a place over there. It needn't be on the water, just a little cottage in the middle of nothing. That's what I want! They are also building new condo's on MD50 almost to the bridge (Western Shore)- so they need to be checked out.

Yesterday's 1745 arrival will be here in about an hour. It appears to be just a few minutes late, :) wouldn't you say? The bird sits here until Sunday evening. Oh boy!

Tom: you would be correct about the parking in Glen Burnie. Ain't life great?

Spring!

Last night there was a thunderstorm, a sure sign of spring. As long as it gets and stays warm then it will be worth the long winter.

My parents are returning from South Carolina tomorrow. They have essentially been gone since the week of Christmas. The time they are away seems to be really happy for them. Trips to the beach, going out to eat, playing with their little friends.......

It's time for me to get ready for bed. Last night ended this morning around 4a.m. So clearly I'm tired.

Be good!

Beware of Big Brother

Now that we're officially back from vacation, I get yelled at for not cutting it short.
Yes, everyone knew what days I'd be off. Yes, it had been approved.

Oddly all of the emails concerning it are mysteriously absent from my sent
folder in company email. Odd, n'est pas?

So tonight will turn into tomorrow before I leave here. It's more fun than getting
a tooth filled.

Return to chains

Catch up, catch up, catch up.

There is no better way to describe today. Fortunately I did get a lot done, but still more remains!

The kids here at work acted like they missed me. It was kind of nice! Thankfully my office wasn't trashed, and there were no 'fires' to put out! April looks like it will be busy, but (knock on wood) shouldn't be a killer! Yes there are some departures at nasty times (like 2am!) , but we'll get through it.

My parents are due to return from South Carolina. They are having the time of their lives. Each time I speak with them they seem happier. It really is nice where they are at. The beach is close, A pool just yards away, and lots of food places to keep them occupied.

I've just realized how tired I am. So I'll close.

Be good!

Last day of freedom

Tomorrow is back to work. There will be a ton of work left for me to do. Not only the stuff that has gone on in the last two weeks, but things to be done for April.

The weather today was beautiful. Spring may really be here. Finally. Wouldn't that be nice?
No more frost, snow, or ice, please!

I've filled five large bags full of clothes that have to go. My considerable closet needs attention... but that's a different day......

Okay, be good my children!

Great Circle Trip

Today although the weather was crap.... my older brother and I went on a little adventure.
Across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, up to Rock Hall, Centerville, and then lunch in Chestertown.

We wandered up the shore, and there it was a sign that said "Elkton." So off we went. Up across the head of the Chesapeake Bay and down Route 40. Upon reaching White Marsh a mandatory stop-over at Ikea was called for. I'd been looking for a chair for the new desk in my room. Being unrealistic I didn't want to pay more than twenty dollars. Sure enough, they had a great chair for 19.99! Will it be natural, red or black? Black. It came in an interestingly small box. After our stop-over (did you know Pan Am had a 707 crash in Elkton in the early 1970's?) we took the beltway across the Key Bridge. My brother had never been that way before. He didn't know there was a drawbridge in the Baltimore Beltway!

Last night I hooked my the new Tivoli Audio Stereo System I bought. The sound is incredible, and it's almost impossibly small. Tonight I've been listening to stuff I dug out when cleaning: Meet Danny Wilson, Royal Crescent Mob, Tony Carey, and old Marshall Crenshaw. I guess it's all kind of old, eh?

Monday is back to work. Can't wait for that. Can't I have a toe amputated instead? It has been over two weeks. I can't even begin to imagine the pile of stuff waiting for me. (Oh Joy)-

Remember that March 27 will be the 30 year mark since the horror at Tenerife. May those who lost their lives rest in peace. May the rest of us never forget, and remember the valuable lessons learned that horrible day.

Good night, and be good!

First Flight

Second week of vacation, and what have I gotten done? Notta!

Today I got paint and the other crap to finish the paint job that never got started. The paint is a VERY light blue gray, and will be ragged on, I hate brushes and rollers. They give no character to the job being done. This will allow me to make areas that are dark and light in the painting.

Have I mentioned it looks like Nagasaki in here? It does. I'm removing a piece of furniture and replacing it with another, and need storage for 300 CD's. I haven't counted DVD's. Nor have I counted the VCR tapes I plan on keeping. To say a few have made it to the trash can is a true understatement.

Trivia: Where is the busiest Outback Steakhouse in the World? Glen Burnie. What does that say? Have you seen the hot-dog man outside of Ann's? Now, that is real food.

Be good!
