Don't leave the plantation.

Today I'm out running errands, and having a nice day to myself.
The work cell rings. "We need 804" the voice on the other end
says. "What time?" I ask. "Six fifteen"- so blast home, put on
some jeans (had shorts on) shoes ( had sandals on)- grab the ID
and keys.......out the door.

Now, it's 2125, and I'm just leaving work. I may start calling it
"The plantation" rather than just the pit. Something is going to
need to change. For the last two weeks I've been fighting a cold.
Unless I get a couple of days- it's not gonna get better.

One day they're gonna call me and I'll either be dead, or too far
away to fix their lack of forethought.

OH! There is a groundhog living in the front yard. The little bugger
has eaten all the leaves off of my pepper plants, and has started eating
the flowers in the yard. One of us needs to go. Can you guess who it's
gonna be?

Okay- off I go to home. Laundry awaits!

At least the weather has been nice!

Today took me to the Mars/Wal*Mart in Glen Burnie.
I was taken aback by the large number of large people.
It made me feel tiny. Lest I forget, tattoo's too. Lot's and
lots of 'em!

While in Mars, the number of plain white trash customers
was amazing, in fact that is all that was in the place! My
business was conducted in a hurry- then out I went. Ick.

Last weekend I got sick, and am finally starting to feel human
again. I'm still coughing a lot, but the fever is gone. In
reality it I never felt really terrible, it was just a drag being ill.
More than likely it was brought on by a lack of sleep. Too
many hours here at the pit.

My family leaves on Monday for South Carolina. Thankfully
a little peace and quiet will accompany their departure. In
eight weeks that's my destination. Sun, sand, and relaxation
are on the agenda.

Okay- off I go, gotta check on the bird, and get some more
"busy" work done!!

YESTERDAY (6-15) SUCKED

First, welcome to the club Tom. Don't think it will be the
last time you get the "kiss" either!

Foolish me ignored two of my personal commandments,
and was appropriately rewarded for it. I've corrected one
item, yet the other cannot be. I'm still irritated over it.
I'm hurt, and it's all my own fault. Most of you know there
are few things I'm good at, but I can bear a grudge to the
grave.

ASSIG continues to be problematic. While the rates I pay
them have increased by 50%, service levels continue to drop.
It's so frustrating giving them every opportunity to improve,
yet not only do they not improve, they continue to slide into
an unrecoverable situation. I can think of no aspect of the
service received that has even stayed on a level field.

Tonight is an annual ritual that I am so looking forward to!
Soft shelled crabs! Normally this is a Saturday event, and
yes, I had asked to have the evening off tomorrow- but it
didn't happen. My goal today is to prevent my bad, sad,
mad attitude spill over into the event.

Okay, I need to go hunt for the pet cage that I bet never got
taken off of the aircraft last night. Scheisse.

How could I forget???

Mrs. Quinn reminded me that I've forgotten to add Tawana Furbush to the list.
What about her daughter Hurlene?

Tonight I'm working a 0245 departure for Europe. Joy abounds! 4.5 hours until
departure. Good thing I took a nap today.... there is still sleep to be made up for
over the last week or so.

Friday is off to Annapolis for the Annual "Soft Shelled Crab and Lobster Dinner."
I cannot wait! Hopefully we can eat outside, and enjoy the quiet of Epping Forest.

Which reminds me . . . . . Yesterday Delta had 2 1/2 carts full of turtles. Not for pets,
not for a zoo, for SOUP! They were being shipped to Asia to be eaten. Amanda from
Omni wanted me to release them- but lets face it: The airport is no place for a turtle!

There were storms in the area this afternoon. Diversions galore! I ignore the domestic
stuff, but Mexicana was here (for -5- hours) and Lufthansa rolled into F-17. Both
were JFK bound. Our plane almost went to RIC!

Off to the plane I go!

Okay - already!

Happy Lisa??

It's been another fun week here at the pit. 24 hour delay, lack of sleep, and tonight . .

ASIG totally lost focus tonight. They simply don't care. Another needless delay.

Yesterday I got to take a nice walk on the beach. The Chesapeake Bay smelled great!
Nice little waves, cooler temperatures, and clear skies made for a nice little break
from the struggle of life.

I sent a text message to Sebastian asking if he were alive. Yes, he said, and that he
had been in France. He promised an email- but . . you know him!

Trivia time: How many of you know who the following individuals are?

Mr. Sticky. Magette, Mrs. Quinn, and Sue LaBrit?

Who will be next to join this exclusive club?

Okay, je suis finis.

Be good!

Fry-day

My travels along the bay confirm that Summer is here. Hazy. Hot. Humid.
Somehow that spells "summer" in Maryland. For those of us who long for
the olden days, remember NO air conditioning!

Last night I received an email from the "friend" who stabbed me in the
back. Repeatedly. Oddly enough he seemed angry, he hadn't done a single
thing to make me stop talking to him. Rather than blasting back like I
want to do so so so badly, the "delete" key was used. It's almost funny
that he thinks I don't know what he did. His loss, not mine!

The search for an employee has turned up no fruit. The one person I
was so excited about hiring has turned out to be probably a good thing
that I didn't. (Talk about a run on sentence!) It is better to have to work
harder by myself than have someone that requires watching.
Too bad for then, this could have been a good job.

My brothers house in Sang Run, Garrett County has been started.
He always wanted a beach house- but instead has a place in the
Mountains. It's always much cooler in the summer. He isn't even
having air conditioning put in (see beginning of post)! Life in
rural western Maryland is much different than in the B-more area.
It's a place I am looking forward to visiting.

Did any one notice we just have had two days with full moons? Oy!
No wonder things have been whacked! Folks driving like insane
asylum escapees during rush hour traffic- I've seen some close to
death almost accidents this week.

I love my ez-pass if you didn't know!

Be good!
