Sand, Sand, and Sun

I figured it's time to let you know how the beach is. Let me
tell you. It's quiet here. Peaceful- no phone, no airplanes,
no folks to bother me. It's so quiet.

Several times I've wondered to the beach. Well, okay, every
day I could! Today was a new beach, Pauley's Island Beach.
Normally I go to Huntington Beach State Park. While quite
by accident I've found the "locals" beach area- you can't
believe how nice the beaches are here. Clean. White "sugar"
sand, and the water is so nice and warm! When Tropical
Storm Faye was in the neighborhood, there were waves
high enough to surf. Even some shells to be found.

Last week was a trip to the Rice Museum in Georgetown. It's
about 18 miles away. The second time there, the tide was
extremely high, as in there was water in one of the parking lots!

No, I haven't done the tourist stuff. I have gotten fish taco's.
I have had soft-shelled-crabs. Most nights are a nice dinner
made here at the house. It's easier, quieter, and better food
than would probably be found locally. God Bless them, but
these folks don't know how to cook seafood.

Next week is back to work. Scheisse. I loathe the thought
of returning. From the stuff that probably hasn't been done,
to having to contend with the problem friend. That is something
that needs to be resolved. Soon.

In case you didn't hear, the trip down I got 38.85MPG!
Gas is also less expensive here, today in Georgetown it
was 3.38! While that is still a lot of money- it's better than
we were paying at the beginning of the summer, which, yes,
is over with this weekend.

Okay, time to scoot, and get the rest of the salt off of me from
the second trip to the beach............

Be good!

Count-Down

The "official" countdown to vacation has begun.
In a little over a week, I'll head south on I95 to
SC181. The drive is long, but well (and I do mean
well) worth it.

Tonight is the first channel mission from BWI in
a number of months for us. Tom is here with me
and will be doing a number of them soon. Good.
It's a nightmare working all night- and the the
phone all day. This week is "end-of-the-month"
time. I've started it, and it may not be as bad to
accomplish as I thought. That's a good thing.

The "problem" individual is back, and has not changed
at all. The time away was for naught. They can't
even look me in the eye. Yes, children, my friend
is officially gone. While it makes me sad and mad,
I acknowledge that he is "dead," at least the friend
part. Thankfully I'll be gone soon, so maybe just
maybe when I get back they will be gone. Never
could it be imagined someone I respected, trusted,
and believed in would morph into what is now
before me.

My Parents called me yesterday: "We're just
coming back from getting pedicures." I almost
dropped my teeth. It's hard to imagine my 75
year old Father getting his feet done. It's sort
of the "car wreck" factor- gross but you can't
help but want to know the details. Ick.

Have I mentioned Christmas Shopping? Yup,
it's well under way. Get it done. Get it done.
One less thing to mess with Once the Holidays
start rolling in.

Okay- gonna scoot. Behave!
